Confident Coils Styling Solution

Confident Coils Styling Solution is a versatile product that can be used by many different hair types to achieve various results. It was designed to be used with Rockin' Ringlets or Gelebration Spray and most people find they get the best results by using them together.

If your hair is tightly coiled and doesn't need curl enhancement, use CCSS alone for excellent definition, hold, humidity protection and softness. If you have a looser curl pattern (like me), use it with Rockin' Ringlets or Gelebration to get the curl enhancement, letting CCSS provide all day hold and humidity protection. When used in the right amount, wavy hair will also get great clumping from Confident Coils without becoming weighed down. The trick is not to use too much. CCSS is more concentrated than Rockin' Ringlets, so when using them together, it is key to use LESS Confident Coils than you do Rockin' Ringlets. If you've been using RR, start out by using slightly less than you've been using and then about half that amount of CCSS. Using too much of any product can weigh down your hair, so if you find this is happening when you introduce CCSS into your routine, use less of it next time.

Like most styling products, it's best to apply CCSS to soaking wet hair to ensure adequate distribution. It can be raked through or scrunched in depending on what method of application works best for you. When used alone Confident Coils results in minimal crunch. If you do experience some crunchiness, you can easily scrunch it out once your hair dries.

Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion

This styling potion is much thinner than traditional gels, which makes it much easier to evenly distribute through masses of thick curls. The trick is to apply it to soaking wet hair. This is true for most styling products, as it's best to get the product into your hair as soon as possible after showering to keep it from frizzing out as it dries.

As our videos demonstrate, it's best to apply quarter-sized puddles of RR at a time to keep any of it from running through your fingers. The number of puddles you'll need will depend on how much hair you have and how much hold you're trying to achieve. For my shoulder length, super thick hair I use about 3 quarter sized puddles followed by a couple spritzes of Gelebration Spray to target my 'trouble areas'. (such as the pieces right by my ears for some reason I can't get a decent coating of RR right there and the Gelebration Spray is easier to get *right there*).

As Rockin' Ringlets is almost entirely all natural, it will never build up or cause flaking. Some people experience a small amount of crunch as it dries, but this can easily be scrunched out once it's fully dry. Scrunching before your hair is totally dry will contribute to frizz, so make sure it's all the way dry before scrunching out the crunch. You can alleviate some or all of the crunch by using a small amount of a leave in conditioner under your RR. Many of our customers use Aloeba as a leave in, and some even mix their RR WITH Aloeba in the same bottle to limit the amount of steps in their styling routine.

Gelebration Spray

The instructions for using Gelebration Spray are basically the same as RR, but you spray it in rather than apply it with your hands. It's super lightweight and hasn't been shown to be too heavy for even the finest of hair. Again, applying it to soaking wet hair will ensure that it is evenly distributed. We don't recommend using either RR or Gelebration on dry hair, as it could end up crunchier than you'd like. If you've found otherwise, feel free to let me know! As with RR, you can add some Aloeba to your Gelebration spray to act as a leave in conditioner.

Awe Inspiraling Spray

This is a lightweight curl enhancer that won't add weight to your hair. Its main purpose is to be used as a refresher on dry hair, but it can also be used on wet hair to aid in curl enhancement. This product has NO hold, so we don't recommend using it by itself. It's very concentrated, so less is more.

Awe Inspiraling Spray works really well with a pea-sized drop of Confident Coils to re-style curls mid day. Put a drop of CCSS in the palm of your hand, spray with some Awe Inspiraling Spray, rub your hands together and scrunch. It will help to perk up and re-clump your curls. You can also add some Aloeba Daily Conditioner to your bottle of Awe Inspiraling Spray to make a lightweight leave in conditioning spray that enhances curls!

Gentle Lather Shampoo

GLS lathers a lot more than Hair Cleansing Cream and thus removes build up better. To get the best results, massage it gently into your scalp to produce the lather. Finger-comb the lather through the length of your hair and rinse well. Don’t bunch your hair up on the top of your head when you wash it, as this causes major tangles. Sometimes I like to mix Hair Cleansing Cream and Gentle Lather in my hand and wash with both of them. It produces more lather than HCC alone, and is more moisturizing than GLS. The best of both worlds!

Hair Cleansing Cream

This is my personal favorite product, as traditional shampoos had become such a nightmare for me. (For more on my views of traditional shampoo, visit our About Us section) The cleansing agents in this cleanser are two of the most gentle available ensuring that it won't dry out your hair. If it's been a few days since you last washed your hair, you might not experience a huge amount of lather on your first application of Hair Cleansing Cream. This does NOT mean that your hair isn't clean. If you desire a more robust lather, washing a second time through should satisfy your needs. For an even more in depth cleaning, leave the lathered Hair Cleansing Cream on your hair for a few minutes before rinsing it out. This cleanser is gentle enough to be used every day, and is perfectly safe for color treated hair. I also like using it as body wash with a bath poof it leaves my skin SO much softer than soap.

Aloeba Daily Conditioner

Aloeba was created as a daily rinse-out conditioner light enough for fine hair, but we've heard from many people that they're using it as a leave in too. That's great! The fact that the formula is free of silicones and proteins means that you can leave it in without fear of you hair drying out over time.

Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner

Too Shea is intended to be a daily rinse-out conditioner for dry, coarse hair, though I've heard from some finer haired curlies that it works wonders for them too. All right! It is pretty moisturizing, and may be too heavy for curls that weigh down easily. Since some people WANT their hair weighed down, however, it can serve that purpose as well. If your hair is at all damaged, this is a great conditioner for you. Too Shea! is also popular as both a leave-in conditioner AND as a deep treatment. So you can pretty much use it however you like. I’ve even used it as hand lotion!

Weekly Deep Conditioning Treatment

This conditioner is really intended to be used once a week, for 20-30 minutes, in order to really replenish your hair after a week of styling. If your hair is very fine and gets weighed down easily, you may want to either limit the amount of time it's left in your hair, OR, wash your hair after using it. I use it every Sunday for an hour, with my Micro Hair Cap and my Monday hair is always super duper soft!

Stimulating Scalp Massage Oil

This stuff is seriously potent! A scalp massage with this will leave your scalp tingly all over, and your hair much softer. It's even better when someone else does the massage for you! Spray it directly onto your scalp and massage it in. After a few minutes you'll start to feel the tingle. You can leave it in for an hour and then wash it out, or wait until the next morning to wash it out. A warning to those leaving it in overnight, I've found that if I use it too close to bedtime, the peppermint smell keeps me awake at night. For this reason, it's better to use it far in advance of bedtime if you're going to leave it in overnight. It can be used on either wet or dry hair, but I find that using it on wet hair allows for better absorption into my hair. For an added treat, use the Micro Hair Cap after doing the scalp massage the combo of the tingle and the warmth feels REALLY great.

Oil Blend

This oil blend does wonders for softening dry, parched hair. It can be used with heat as a hot oil treatment, on wet hair as a leave in moisturizer, or on dry hair to help calm frizzies. I like to add a few drops to my wet hair after an evening shower and wash it out in the morning.
